Welcome, My name is Ruben Hernandez and I am the founder of Unification of Disabled Latin Americans. I came to the United States from Mexico at the age 20. Three years later tragedy would strike and would change my life forever. At age 23 I lost my sight due to a gunshot wound to the head. Though tragic this event became a blessing not just for myself but for many others to come. This event propelled me and became my inspiration to found UDLA an organization that has been instrumental in the rehabilitation of hundreds of disabled individuals and their families. When I founded UDLA I wanted to help but was unaware of how influential it would become in helping me in my own recovery.
